Research Areas

Dr. A.S.M. Woobaidullah is a researcher and geophysicist whose work spans geophysics, hydrogeology, groundwater resources, petroleum geology, reservoir characterization, environmental geoscience, and applied geophysical exploration. His research combines electrical resistivity, geophysical well logging, seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, hydrogeological investigation, and other integrated geoscientific approaches to address practical challenges related to water resources, energy, environmental sustainability, and geological hazards.

His research has a particularly strong focus on the geology and hydrogeology of Bangladesh, including groundwater exploration, aquifer characterization, saline-water intrusion, coastal groundwater resources, and geoelectrical assessment. His work also covers the Bengal Basin and its petroleum systems, including reservoir characterization, seismic interpretation, hydrocarbon prospectivity, gas-field evaluation, and sequence-stratigraphic analysis. The CV documents extensive research involving geoelectric resistivity surveys and groundwater investigations across different regions of Bangladesh.
